Did she really have no idea as to how sick her father really was?

Collector makes public private note from QEII written in 1952. She may have known how sick he was, but emotionally it was still a shock.

They remove one of his lungs and
he continues to chain smoke with
the blessing of all those around
him. This was 1950, the docs of
that time weren't stupid, they knew
he was a goner. Stopping smoking
at that point would have made no
difference in the final outcome.
He'd been a 5 pack a day man all
his life.

Watching this "Women Behind Bars" series, part of the MSNBC "Lock-Up" series they use to fill time on weekends or holidays.

I have to say these women are completely nuts. I have heard this about women in prison. I know it it TV and all, but even on TV it is crazy. Just listening to the interviews, they do not live in reality.

The Impossible is a dramatic English language movie made in Spain about a Spanish family who was vacationing in Thailand when the tsunami hit in 2004.

A young Tom Holland stars as the oldest son. He is the new and youngest Spiderman. It's a difficult movie to watch, but probably particularly if you have children.

"The undersea megathrust earthquake was caused when the Indian Plate was subducted by the Burma Plate and triggered a series of devastating tsunamis along the coasts of most landmasses bordering the Indian Ocean, killing 230,000–280,000 people in 14 countries, and inundating coastal communities with waves up to 30 metres (100 ft) high. It was one of the deadliest natural disasters in recorded history."

It literally shook the whole planet.

Spain was not deeply affected as mostly northern European vacation in Thailand .According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 2 confirmed dead, both in Khao Lak beach, in Phuket, Thailand.

The movie was based on a Spanish family, although they are portrayed by Scottish, British and American actors. María Belón, a doctor, and her husband, Enrique Álvarez, were on Christmas vacation at a resort in Khao Lak, Thailand. On December 26, 2004, Belón was at the poolside while her husband and three sons, Lucas, 10, Tomás, 8, and Simón, 5, were splashing in the pool, before the family was swept apart by the tsunami.

I won't spoil the movie to tell you whether the 2 Spanish deaths came from this family.

Juan Antonio García is a Spanish film director who was best known for directing the 2007 horror film The Orphanage. He wanted to reach a wider audience with "The Impossible" so he cast non-Spanish actors and produced the film in English. As you can see from the list, very few deaths were in Spanish speaking countries.

I'm not surprised the top 10 countries
from abroad all are European. For some
reason they love to go to many 3rd
world crap holes when on holiday. I
think it's because they get more bang
for the Euro there. Sweden and Germany
lost 1100, America 33. Not surprising at
all.

They stay at nice luxury hotels and resorts,
but leave those places and you see
extreme poverty everywhere.

I was in Vegas the last four days.

I flew Southwest and they had a bunch of TV shows you could stream on your phone for free. On my flight there I watched episodes 1 & 2 of 11/22/63. It's a miniseries on Hulu based on a Stephen King book about a man who travels back in time to prevent the assassination of JFK.

On my flight home I watched episodes 3 & 4.

It was pretty good. Held my attention. I'd like to watch episodes 5-8, but I don't have Hulu.

I suppose you could purchase the book.

Hulu seems to have hit 12 million subscribers as of May 4 2016. Netflix is around 50 million in the USA, and a rapidly increasing number of foreign subscribers. Amazon Prime hit 60 million a few months ago, but many people purchase Prime for the shipping discounts.

The interesting thing is what will happen to all these series being developed. Will a Netflix series stay on Nflix forever, or will it show up on Hulu after a few years, or on Showtime.

I actually do own the book. It's been sitting around gathering dust waiting to be read for several years now...
