There are significant differences in the case of someone who knows God is real and knows God loves them and someone claiming to be abducted by UFOs.

Actually, there are no differences. Both
are suffering from self delusion, as I
said in the last post. That's why cult
members often have to be professionally
deprogrammed. They can't see the real
world anymore, all they see is the fake
one they created with their delusions.

Like thinking Jesus is riding in your car
with you and making the lights green.
Or that he answers your wishes like
he said he would in the NT. He doesn't
and he won't, he has no power, he's been
dead for 2000 years.

Yahweh wasn't much of a father or god if he let any army scourge his sons back and then nail him to a cross. It would have been a lot more impressive if when the Romans tried that, Yayweh reversed the polls and every Roman was crucified.

A good father would fight to the death to stop that from happening.

It takes a strange set of internal beliefs, to think that allowing your prodigy to be tortured to death is love.

Anytime 'love' is spoken about
by the Church, watch out. It's
really just another 4 letter word
to them. It means you're about
to get screwed somehow.

Like the way they 'love' Gays. You
can be Gay and be a member of the
Church, you just can't do Gay sex
acts or get married to each other.
That't their definition of 'love'.

What is really delusional is thinking that there is no God. That is a foundational delusional that effects everything. The universe, the world, yourself, everything becomes something without fundamental value or significance. You become the center of the universe and your own little puny god. I think I'll stick with the true God.

So love for Bob requires sex? Talk about messed up definitions of love?

What if the father knew that the death of his son would save the whole world?

You have no choice and you
don't even know it. You were
so indoctrinated at such
a young age that you couldn't
shake it if you tried. If there
was a god I would experience
it also, and I don't. I'm open
minded to anything, but it
has to be real evidence, not 'you
have to believe it because I
told you to'.

Sex has nothing to do with love,
and the love of the Church has
nothing to do with the textbook
definition of the word. Love to
the Church their twisted view
of the world.

That would make the death meaningless.
If it was a crapshoot, if death was a not
guarantee of anything, that would change
everything. But the myth says it was a
done deal, the outcome was known
in advance. It's kinda like running a
race and announcing the winner before
it starts. Makes the race meaningless,
just like Jesus dying was meaningless.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.
