You really want me to list all the closing Catholic schools and all the parishes that have no full time priest? How young men are avoiding seminaries in droves, how the priesthood worldwide is in crisis mode because it's full of old men who are retiring and not being replaced. How there are more nuns over 90 than under 60. The Church is on the ropes, financially, and in every other way. Secularism is more and more becoming the preference of intelligent people. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Not completely true but the troubles of the Church are a symptom of the troubles of society. As a society becomes more selfish vocations to service are viewed as less important, look at how the role of a police officer is viewed today. As a society becomes more greedy donations to the needy and organizations that serve the needs of the poor are lessened. The troubles of the Church is linked to the troubles of modern society.

C'mon. The Church is going broke from the billions it's paid out in hush money and lawsuit settlements from the pedophile scandal. This has also kept a lot of men from becoming priests, too much of a blemish on the profession now.. The Church might recover, but it won't the same Church it was 30 years ago.
It's inarguable, the more educated a person is, the more intelligent they are, the more likely they are to be secular. It's the only intelligent choice in a modern world. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
