You don't have complete knowledge of how the sun works, but I reckon you have an understanding of it.

The sun works because god said, "Let there be light."

The truth is humans trying to understand and communicate about Gods nature is impossible. We use language to share concepts but the problem is there are no words to describe accurately something so far beyond our understanding as the trinitarian nature of God. It is a total mystery. It's hard enough to think of a quantum vacuum, multiverses, string theory, ect. let alone the nature of the one who created it all. We do the best we can with what we have (language) at our disposal. The only analogy I ever thought had any validity in that it didn't make God into three Gods (modalism) (sorry frg a leaf can be cut away and the plant will still live) is the concept of space in that length, breadth and depth cannot exist alone. There is really no such thing as a point or a line without height to go with it. I don't think it's a great analogy just the best one I've come up with.

Oh wow. "Let there be light" has nothing to do with the sun!

And with that, I'm out of this
discussion. Why the heck am
I talking about a god splitting
in 3 parts, when there is no god
at all. The whole thing is silly,
not worth any more of my time..

If you can figure out how to get Evenbob out of a religious thread I think you just may understand the Trinity.

Your analogy was so bad I just
couldn't take anymore. No Xtion
can explain trinity, you made my
point perfectly.

Here's what you do. Find the choir,
tell them your little stories and
they will all smile and agree with
you. Think how warm and tingly
that will make you feel.

Seriously. The mantra for worshipping god should not be "revel in your ignorance"
