Maybe it's not a cover story, maybe it's the truth. There's not really a tactful way to ask an employee if you can use her uterus for 9 months... it's just not professional. He should have had his wife pop the question.

Hey. He's going in about 3 weeks. End of the year. He's neither weak nor a weasel. He did what the party needed done, and he's furious about being placed in this position. He's not that kind of guy. I'd swear it on a stack of bibles, even though I don't know him that well.

Strom Thurmond was. He got my butt when we posed for a picture 24 years ago in his office. He was in a wheelchair, but his arms worked just fine.

Mark Sanford was not. He was all business, 18 hrs a day, slept in his office, no social life. He genuinely fell in love with that other woman, but he wasn't looking for easy sexual contacts. There's an eternal party in guys' eyes that do that stuff, and he wasn't one of them. SC realized that after the fuss died down and put him back in office.

Those 3 are the only ones I know, of the politicians discussed in this context. But Franken is just a clown (in a good way), who felt an obligation to step up when his close friend was killed, and was always about service while in the Senate.

These women perceived something different, I can't argue that. But I will argue his intent. He simply wasn't groping them. He's an honorable guy.

record, not one of the bills he worked
on became law. And nobody can stand
the guy, that's why his colleagues threw
him under the bus. They forced him to
fall on his sword so it gives them leverage
when Moore gets elected. But if it comes
to that, Moore will keep his job and make
the ethics committee jump thru all the
hoops to get rid of him, and it will fail.

They traded Franken for another Dem,
no matter who it is, it will be a 1000%
improvement over Al Franken.
