Just for the record, I had a few women come back with me to my place in my bar hopping days. Leaving at 1 or 2am wasn't uncommon.

One walked in, sat down on the living room couch, said, "You don't have a TV?" I said no. She said "I'm leaving." And she left.

So there you go, a woman I had the right to have sex with. I would be acquitted if I had forced her, because she already implied she wanted sex by showing up.

At least in someone's alternate universe.

But even in your scenario, the condo seller doesn't receive or deserve to take the whole "prize" or sale's price on his own just because he didn't get the sale.

This isn't worthy of debating, but I feel I have to take a stand and I say I find this whole "blame the victim" line of thought revolting. It is condoning rape and I find it sickening that I have to allow this kind of misogynist and repugnant talk on my forum under the protection of freedom of speech.

I am not condoning rape at all. I am talking the definition. The whole "date rape" thing should scare men to death. I do not feel it is misogynist to demand that women take responsibility not to put themselves is such a clearly dangerous situation. I am sorry, but to enter a guy's room willingly and climb into his bed, this is every "go" signal out there.

We clearly have a divide between "no means no, no matter what" and "women bear responsibility to give no mixed signals."

That is the point I am trying to make. I am not condoning rape. I am saying such behavior is to play Russian Roulette in bed. 9 of 10 guys will honor the "no" and simply have nothing more to do with the woman. But the 10th will not put up with it, and violence or forced sex will happen.

Well, that's the answer if you are looking for it.

Plenty of businesses go out of business even when they put in special effort to sell a product to customer. A casino can't assault a customer because he or she has only been taking all the free offers. They can do other things, but assault isn't one of them they can do legally. They can't force him to gamble to make up for all the free taking.
