I am no AOC fan, but..... I love how the same people outraged about a minor parking infraction (she was slightly over the warning line, not blocking a fire hydrant or bus stop or whatever....), are the same ones going out of their way to defend a certain candidate who was engaging in interstate sex trafficking (of minors)...... I guess if the biggest scandal they can find is that she committed a slight parking violation (assuming she was even the one driving), shows the games of moral equivalences they are trying to draw. There are some things about AOC I find outrageous (policy views, not personal law violations or ethical issues), but her parking her Tesla wrong is not one of them.... |

At first glance it appears she took two parking spaces to prevent anyone from parking near her car. Those aren’t parking spaces. If they were, the lines would be straight rather than slanted. That area is meant to be clear for emergency vehicle response and people with shopping carts and strollers. Firefighters have been known to bash those windows with their axes and harpoons, then running the hoses through the car interior. |

You are thinking of blocking a fire hydrant (which is different from a fire lane), When connecting to a fire hydrant hoses need to be as straight as possible so if a car is blocking one the fire crew usually has to break out the windows to run the hose through. This is clearly not in front of a fire hydrant (I have not seen signs of one in any photo). It is also not a fire lane, DC does not mark fire lanes with one white line. The angled white line in the front is clearly marking the last parking spot, and she was slightly over the line. Was she technically illegally parked? Yes. Was it any kind of fire hazard? No... Are people still obsessed with this because they are more obsessed with AOC than with with actual parking regulation? Yes....  |

Wrong. It is a fire lane. DC does mark fire lanes with diagonal white stripes. The angled white line does not mark the last parking spot. It is such a fire hazard, the city will tow and impound the vehicle, as well as issue a large summons. This is the H Street, Whole Foods closest to where AOC lives. Spin the view counter clockwise 90 degrees. Then proceed forward. The view across from the entrance, clearly shows the diagonal white zebra stripes, as well as numerous ‘No Standing’ and ‘No Parking’ and ‘Tow Away’ signs beside the zebra stripes on both sides of the street. The Self absorbed elitist AOC, ignored the stripes and signs, parked her car, and left it unattended in another similarly marked location at the store. |
