She had dozens of proposals on social media the minute she got divorced.

It's not clear which house she will keep. They have a nice one in Beverly Hills.

Only dozens?

I did hear of one woman is in 8 figures like her cannot keep a guy as most guys cannot fathom living that life.

I would hate having that much money.
All the small things I enjoy now would
disappear overnight and I would have
to learn new ones. No thanks.

I wouldn't be able to handle it. Say I go to Vegas. I'd still prefer to go to Freemont Street not play alone like those whales do. Still like the fancy buffets. Heck, bunch of us went out in a limo once and I was opening the door to hop out and the driver lady is telling me about "limo etiquette" and to wait for them to open the door. I just wanted to get inside whatever casino or restaurant we were hitting.

Give two weeks notice. If they don't want you to work those two weeks, they are firing you. If your employment is "at will" then it usually won't really make any difference, but sometimes it might, such as if you wish to make a case to collect unemployment benefits.

On the other hand, if you just quit, word can get out that you quit without notice. That might be a consideration for future employers.

Yes, it is obviously a double-standard - hardly anyone gets notice when they are let go.

I thought 2 week notices were long gone.
Employers no longer trust that you won't
steal them blind in those 2 weeks, so they
frog march you out of the building with
the stuff out of your desk in a cardboard
box.

What exactly can I steal? The computers are not networked so I have no access to the files on anyone's computer but my own - which is work I did and know how to do anyway
I am not going to steal any pens, paperclips or paper products lol

Disgruntled employees also sabotage
the business. Use company resources
to throw a monkey wrench in the works.
Lots of damage if they know what they're
doing.

...real life is much different,
everything works out OK in real life
when you quit a job without a rock
solid new job lined up. Sarcasm intended.

My wife quit her job four months ago and is still looking. I will give her two more months before I start suggesting that she walks the streets to earn every $20 she can.

This brings back some bad memories. I was OR director and anesthesia chief at a previous hospital. I watched two separate nursing OR chiefs fired and escorted out by security. These were good people who were just being replaced as often happens in these jobs. It was so bad for the remaining personnel's morale. At one point the long time secretary of the department (still a friend of mine to this day) was being terminated in a cost cutting move, and was about to be subject to the perp walk. I prevented it and told the higher ups I would walk with her and help her get her personal things. They at least allowed me.
In their defense, there was an employee terminated that destroyed a bunch of computer equipment and did some sabotage as well, exactly what I am not sure.

Anyway, I recommend not quitting until you have another job lined up. And I definitely would give whatever notice your contract requires, not a day less. As someone who hires professionals, I can assure you that finding out someone broke a contract is a huge red flag.

To me two weeks is a big nothing. My last job I had to give 3 months, and I did so. It wasn't pleasant being there but I did my job and I think it served me well to stay.
