You must not have been in SW Florida about two weeks ago. Four to eight hour lines waiting to fill up for gas. I was using my car to charge my cell phone and had to quit doing it because gas wasn't available.

"At one station, in Port Charlotte, cars stretched for over a mile, while hundreds of others in need carried cans. And lawn chairs."

I don’t feel one iota of sorrow or pity for any of those people.

Move to Florida, you take the risk of hurricanes ruining your life.

There were some lucky ones. The DeSantis administration provided FREE transport to Massachusetts just before the hurricane hit. And it wasn’t the wealthy or even the middle class! It was the immigrants who came to our country for a better life. And they were saved by DeSantis.

Did you ever decide where you’re going to live? I think you should just get a nice boat and live on that. You can ride it up the coast and visit golf courses. You can avoid hurricanes You can dock it wherever your wife’s parents are. You can probably hire a guy to do the regular maintenance. You can probably visit nearby resort islands. You can scuba dive and fish off it.. 3 miles out, you can have legal gambling card games.

The amount of money paid in interest on the Federal debt, increased 45% this year, to $580 billion.

Due to the annual $3 trillion in excess spending, already built in to the budget, the amount paid in interest could exceed the total cost of military spending in 2023. Certainly by 2024.

Yawn
Neither party cares
I'm at the point where I really don't care either
I am personally living a debt free life.
That's what matters
I'm now on a fixed social security income
I pay little taxes
Thanks for paying this off for me Tanko. I imagine your state tax is higher then my fed tax :-)

I am already bitter about that. Ian was supposed to hit Tampa and not Ft Myers. I went to bed on Monday September 26th not too worried at all about Ian as the eye was tracking to Tampa and my area would not get the brunt of it. I woke up Tuesday morning to a mandatory evacuation order as it turned and was heading 100 miles south of the previous track. I had about two hours to change plans, pack up, and evacuate. Fortunately I made a good decision to head East instead of North and I sat it out in Ft. Lauderdale.

Knowing that no one cares, I nevertheless will note that the $580 billion interest payment quoted above represents a projection for fiscal year 2023 made by a Washington Post columnist using certain assumptions. A projection, not a fact.

From FY 2021 to FY 2022 the interest paid on the debt increased less than 2% from about $392 billion to $399 billion.

Also, a $3 trillion deficit is not built in to the budget. FY 2022 had a $1.4 trillion deficit, $400 billion less than projected and about half of the roughly $2.8 trillion deficit for FY 2021. Last time I looked, the current budget proposal projects a $1.2 trillion deficit for FY 2023.

Though the interest payment might exceed defense spending at some point, it won't happen in 2023 and it's far from a certainty in 2024.

Spot on otherwise.

For those who don't think that China owns Biden. Why does the WH continue to use Tik Tok as their main media platform when staff and the military keep advising against it because of security concerns with the Chinese owned app?

Because the only info the White House would put on Tik Tok is public information.

What they use for all else, probably Defense Secure Network One (DSNET 1) for SECRET traffic. Defense Secure Network Two (DSNET 2) for TOP SECRET traffic.
