LBJ was a major asshole, but nothing like Trump in so many other ways. Kennedy was hardly as pure as people thought. Ford was dull. Bush's probably did their best. Clinton had all the philandering qualities of Trump, but not much else to hurt him. Dishonesty about his personal moral failures I guess.

There is no doubt that both, like all of us as we age, are in decline.

I love how I get called out for "both sides" because, in the mind of the some, they can't be compared.

No you get called out because your comparisons are typically ludicrous and used to deflect from the GOP’s much worse actions, policies, politicians, etc.

Reagan got the "Teflon" characterization, because the barbs thrown at him didn't stick, whereas nothing sticks to Trump because nothing sticks to dried poop.

I find that hair sticks to dried poop and vice versa.

Shouldn't let it dry in your hair.

Lol

Biden is very fiery tonight, so instead of “senile” the idiots say he’s being “too political.”

His "inner circle" say that he is the Energizer Bunny behind closed doors. Maybe he will show that part tonight...

He did better than many of his recent public encounters. Practice helped. He didn't deliver much real substance; it was a pretty simple campaign speech. He shouted a lot. Maybe that goes back to when he got to the Senate and they did not use microphones.

He'll get a bit of a boost out of the speech.

In case anyone missed the GOP’s truly bizarre response to the SOTU:

Somehow that was not an SNL sketch!

She wasn't great; practice at speeches will make her better.

She actually showed emotion and caring.

Biden did not give a "State of the Union'; he gave a "Start of My Campaign"...nothing to uplift Americans as a whole. He is not Clinton or Obama...they had moments that made you forget politics for at least a bit.

He did call the Georgia killer an "illegal" and not a "newcomer"...but, fact-checking him, saying "illegal" is for Republicans and more cordial terms are probably proper based on the status conferred upon them in our present situation.

He called the Supreme Court out for decisions they made. That seemed like more of a Trump move.

Anyway...Dems love his speech. As I sad before, he will get a boost from it. It was good enough...
