I believe this is the first time I’ve ever seen a rightie even attempt to defend Cancun Cruz’s little getaway. “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |

I am okay with his paternity leave as a concept, but even an idiot knows that certain important jobs can't just be left alone for 12 weeks. What was he doing? What was his deputy doing? The Transportation Department being absent in a transportation crisis is unacceptable. He should be held accountable. You can delegate authority but not responsibility--he needs to explain himself to Congress and tell them how he is working to make things better. If he can explain it and actually did stuff, or caused the deputy to do stuff, to improve the situation, okay. The Administration as a whole was late to the party. That is a common theme these days.
Don't you get it? He is gay so he is allowed to do whatever he wants to do. A GOP Senator goes on vacation to Mexico and somehow he is responsible for the electrical grid handled by state not federal people. A gay guy wants a 12 week vacation from an executive job and he is just "taking care of family." IMHO there should be no maternity or paternity leave from executive level jobs. When you take a job at that level you are saying the job is the most important thing.
Speaking of people who need to be there to do their jobs. Quote: More than eight months after Democratic President Joe Biden took office, his nominees across the government are being approved at a slower rate than the past three presidents, federal data shows.
In addition to the toll that Cruz's actions are taking on the Treasury's ability to tackle the federal debt limit, they are hurting the Biden administration's ability to address other big problems, senior officials say, including a global minimum tax, terrorism and financial intelligence. Yes, Senate Democrats need to be at their jobs, not trying to pass multi-trillion dollar pork bills. Why are you mentioning Senate Democrats not doing their jobs to me? Democrats run the Senate after all. The President is a fink. |

As if Republicans have never held up appointments for long periods and won't ever again. Neither is true. If you really want people in their jobs in a timely manner then follow your own words. You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really? |

Democrats invented holing up nominations. Democrats invented just destroying the lives of nominees they did not like. And the Democrat Party is running the Senate, so it is more their incompetence than the GOP obstructing. Save it for someone who is under 30. The President is a fink. |
