Wrong!

It was lowered for the 1987 tax year as a result of 1986 legistation . The tax rates in 1986 were 38% on 49,720 - 64,750 (MFJ), 42% on 64,750 - 92,370, 45% from 92,370 - $118,050, 48% for 118,050 - 175,250 and 50% for over 175,250.

Reagan lowered taxes for the 1982 tax year where the maximum tax bracket was changed from 70% to 50% and then again for the 1987 tax bracket where the maximum tax bracket was lowered to 38.5% for those making $90,000 or more (181,997 of today's dollars), still higher taxes for those making between $181,997 and $405,000 than we have today.

But I get it. You blame Obama for higher taxes that exists for less than 1% of the population, and you believe that ObamaCare is some kind of income tax.

Inflation is a stealth tax.

Much of this is only semantics to me. One wants to argue fed tax is up [down] or state tax is likewise. Fica is up or down, sales tax same way. Watch the birdie.

I've read different reports of food being up between 12 and 20% this year alone. The dollar is worth less than 5% of its value in 1914. We want to talk about business tax or corporate tax [ they are people too you know].

Somewhere I read Goldman Sachs tax rate is less than 3% and GE payed nothing, so they have a pretty good tax rate. Or one of my favorites was Leona Helmsly "tax's are for little people" .

Warren Buffets tax rate is lower than his secretary's.

Whatever, whatever my friends, forest for the trees. If it really makes a big difference to you which pocket "they" are confiscating the fruit of your labor from go ahead and vote along party lines. It is NOT going to get better with either of the big two until after some cataclysmic reset. Kondratiev cycles and all that.

Ah the beauty of fiat, it's not like they are confiscating real money anyway.

Once again, please stop trying to play "gotcha" and to understand what is being conveyed. It was called The Tax Reform Act of 1986, so I would expect an educated person to understand when a person talks about taxes and 1986 that this is what they mean.

Yes, I blame him totally as he could not wait to raise said taxes. Taxes for the top 1% going up hurts, not helps, me. And Obamacare is a tax, plain and simple. Multiple taxes in the bill, actually.
The President is a fink.

I'll never understand why libs act like raising taxes has no effect on the economy. It has a HUGE effect. And it's always negative. *facepalm*

How about the holometer experiment? Theory the entire universe is a hologram and we're really a 2-D universe and reality is an illusion. What would it mean to the world knowing this if true?

http://libertyblitzkrieg.com/2014/08/28/a-man-of-many-perversions-federal-cybersecurity-head-convicted-of-child-porn-charges/ Between the hhs and the sec there keeping perversion a going concern.

It seems every day some other heinous exposure of our gov makes a new headline. This is what we pay taxes for? [sarc]

I will confess this is sort of what I thought they were doing all along. If that makes me theorist than so be it.

How California's kill-switch law could go awry

Here's another example of stupid liberal politicians at work. First off, doesn't California have more pressing issues at the moment? The state is in shambles on all fronts, yet these idiots are worried about cell phones?!?! Who the hell cares about a stolen cell phone anyway???? They're only several hundred dollars at MOST to replace, and anyone who has an expensive cell phone probably isn't in the poorhouse.

But of course, stupid libs have to pass stupid laws. And I guarantee you that people will end up sorely regretting this law. Not only will malicious hackers wreak havoc by controlling people's phones via the kill switch, but the freakin GOVERNMENT will also have control!!

The stupidity of Californians knows no bounds!!

There was a caller on Rush Limbaugh the other day who is the perfect example of a naive conservative. He thinks that Romney should run again in 2016, and this time he should tell the media:

"I'm not gonna talk about abortion. I'm not gonna talk about Bain Capital. I'm not gonna talk about my money. I'm not gonna talk about this or that..."

Now I don't know what planet this guy lives on, but first of all, Romney LOST the last election. Sure, he's a good, decent, honorable man, but he still LOST. It frightens me that so many conservatives think that a loser (as a candidate, not as a person) is the Republicans' best hope.

But more importantly, does this naive conservative honestly believe that the media would let Romney (or any other Republican) get away with saying, "I'm not going to talk about [such and such]"?!?! *facepalm*
