| odiousgambit Member since: Oct 28, 2012 Threads: 154 Posts: 5112 | 2nd amendment people and anti-gun people feel the same way about one thing: we need to keep guns out of the hands of deranged people this has proven to be hard to do. The will to really do what's necessary is lacking? Just as an example, NY state has a 'red flag' law that, if in effect in TN, theoretically could have stopped the recent tragedy. Note that even a family member can initiate things. But they say it's a law that hasn't worked well, because somebody has to take the next step. I guess perps go buy a gun anyway, because the money hasn't been spent to get the system set up to get a message to gun stores 'not to sell' . Other states have red flag laws, I don't know if they get them to work. see next
