Some Catholics are even calling for the pope to resign. The calls from Catholic bishops, organizations, and media outlets for Pope Francis to be investigated and/or resign have come after the former Vatican ambassador to the United States, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, released an 11-page affidavit Saturday alleging that Pope Francis turned a blind eye to McCarrick’s behavior." Time for the old coot to retire and make room for a decent leader. One who is a champion for the abused and not the abusers. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Shhh, we don't want to talk about it.. But Francis is very concerned about global warming and all the plastic floating in the ocean. That's where his focus is at. Good grief.. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

petroglyph Member since: Aug 3, 2014 Threads: 25 Posts: 6227 | Amazing, I have a couple articles that say the same thing. It's like the latest tragedy of the gang of 300 is no longer news? I was guestimating that if there were 1000 child abuse victims in every state, the latest would be a settlement in the billions. 1,000x 1,000,000 each, x fifty states, not to mention other country's. Billions of dollars, that we will never hear about. And the believers just get gussied up and head to church weekly with their checkbooks, while the Pope mourns illegal aliens, and the great plastic gyre. Pretty crazy to witness for a non believer. Once you stand back and look at it as a non believer, the totality of the con is incredible. I have relatives that hop from church to church as each previous church didn't seem like they really understood jesus. They don't question the Jesus, only the church's interpretation of the bible, then they move to another church. Then there are the forward, fwd, fw in my email that makes me not want to look at my email, from otherwise good friends. The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW |

That's my wife. Her dad was a Baptist minister, so she feels that crushing Xtion guilt if she's not in church every Sunday kissing the 'lords' ass. But she gets bored easily so she was always switching churches 3 times a year. She finally found one that videos the service and posts it as a podcast, so she stays home now and watches it in PJ's in the late afternoon. She still sends them money (makes me furious) because there's no way to get around that guilt. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

petroglyph Member since: Aug 3, 2014 Threads: 25 Posts: 6227 | I think that is a smart business move on churches part. The church running out of priests and nuns could do better by going with a virtual service. Wouldn't even need a real human to do the preaching, just some look like robot, festooned in all the garb. They could also do little hollywood miracles, magic, special effects, etc. Better than driving to a boring sermon, not knowing if the preacher is going commando. Look at the money these go fund me folks are getting. The donors must be relieving plenty of guilt, and doing a good thing at the same time. Bypassing the middle man [church]. It's crazy that the church is getting outed so often, people aren't even shocked anymore. I don't get how they can call themselves Christians? More than that, how dare they they dictate morality to the rest of us. Just yesterday I saw a woman saying, virgin priests and nuns, never been married, never raised a family, yet they tell us what to do like they're god. In their minds they are god, they've been brainwashed into believing it. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
