I think we would agree that man has always been about acquiring power\.

You see my point clearly. The Church
is men, and men lust after power.
They use the excuse of a non existant
god to do it. Been done many times,
but the early Church had the power
of Rome behind it, with that power
it was able to eliminate all the
competition and create a monopoly
that lasted until the Reformation.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Yes men lust after power that is true and it destroys them, all the time and every single time. Yet, God continues to protect and guide the Church through people who reject this lust for power and just plain lust. These saints are the real history of the Church and why it continues today and will continue until the Second Coming of Christ.

By the way I would recommend some reading on the Early Church's history and the Roman persecutions.

If there was a 'god' guiding your
Church, I'd be super embarrassed
for you. What a crappy job he's
doing, his Church is the laughing
stock of the world these days.

Exposing corruption and evil actions is a good thing. There is a real excitement of sorts when things have to change and the truth is out. It is not God, but men who are doing the crappy job. Surely you see that. I also don't sense people laughing but more like crying. It would be pretty sick to laugh at child sexual abuse and the abuse of power wouldn't it?

There isn't a whit of difference between
your Church, supposedly run by a god,
or some 'holy spirit', and a corporation
run by greedy, power hungry men. They
are one and the same. If you didn't know
one was a church and the other a corp,
you couldn't tell the difference.

Such a giant game of self deception all
you god people play. You fancy yourselves
the apple of some fake gods eye. You are
the center of that gods attention, it's quite
amusing. There's a god and all he has time
for is worrying about your butt 24/7.

"A neuroendocrinologist, Robert Sapolsky, a professor at Stanford University, says this about religion:
"Religious rituals are a form of exhibiting obsessive-compulsive disorders, and religious people are on a spectrum of mental illness."

That's funny because that's the way
I've treated my wife's family for decades,
like they suffer from a functional mental
illness. They say stupid and nonsensical
things, and I just nod and say nothing.
Like you do when you're around crazy
people.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

There, you see? The church has been doing good things for centuries. Constant exposure of child sexual abuse. All the time, everywhere.

They think it's going stop, the joke
is on them. As long as the Church
remains 60+% Gay, it will never
stop. Way too many priests joined
the priesthood because they knew
it gave them power over young
men. That's not going away.

Well written thoughtful article on
the 'problem' the Church has.
Does this sound familiar? It's
how sex abusers of kids justify
what they do.

"Some priests took the line that celibacy concerns the conjugal act, not sterile sex between men... novice masters regarded homosexual relations as healthy, even necessary for proper priestly formation. Sometimes the novice masters insisted that they be the agents of this “formation.”

We'll see where it goes. It can't
continue, that's for sure.

In some cloistered societies the sex ratio was kept to a strict fifty: fifty.
The word 'convent' now denotes a residence for females but that used to be called a nunnery. Convents were kept at 50:50.
I don't know about this 'sixty percent gay' or 'major attraction is power over youth, particularly boys'. It might well be true, but evidence???
I do recall that very active priest in the Boston area seemed to have had a great many girls as well as boys. I don't know if perverts differentiate between girls and boys or just view everything as potential prey.

I just know that these newspaper stories keep making headlines for some reason.

I don't know why.

I'm not saying its equivalent to a headline about 'water found to be wet' but its pretty darn close and I can not imagine circumstances that parents, fellow parioshioners, church officials and local cops don't know about.
