But he will have to take a negotiating stance or I'm reading it all wrong I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

Why would he want the war to end. He has a 4% popularity rating in Ukraine, when the war is done he's done. He will disappear as the pipsqueak little dictator that he is never to be heard from again with all the money he stole from us. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

It'd be okay with me if Trump wanted to split up Ukraine, like Germany was split up after WW2. Except Russia is analogous to Germany, so that's absurd. Oh, and we're not at war with Ukraine. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |

You are insane if you think he has a 4% rating. |

I would tell them that when all of their people are out of Ukrainian territory pre-2014 that they can have Kursk back. I think our government should agree to start easing sanctions 6 months after the last Russian is out. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent. |

We see Trump flip flopping from being pro-Ukraine last month to being pro-Russia right now. I think what Trump is doing is creating an American primacy by giving both sides both false hope and consternation. Trump wants minerals from Ukraine at an inexpensive level or for free and when that did not go over well with Zelensky he switched to a pro-Russia position. I don't care for Trump at all but I think he may be handling this brilliantly. Rumors are that Zelensky is back at the table negotiating mineral rights with Trump which may have been Trumps plan all along while giving Russia some false security. If Trump comes to a deal with Zelensky on the mineral rights it will put Russia in a poor position as the U.S. now has some motivation to keep the war going. No matter what you are hearing Russia wants this over more than Ukraine and Russia will be put in a worse position than they are now. In that case Russia will have to concede more at the negotiations which will benefit Ukraine. I may be reading too much into this but if this is what is happening it is a very smart move to help end the war sooner and to secure the U.S. with mineral rights. If in WW2, we allowed Germany to keep part of France, and in return France gave us a large portion of the vineyard production. For peace. Doesn't sound like much of a deal for Ukraine. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |

Until the deal is done how would we know if it is a good deal for either side? The media is being used for negotiating so I believe very little of the rhetoric. I did see some Russian media today where Putin was telling his citizens that Russia has met all of its goals in Ukraine which sounds to me like it may be the beginning of the end of the special military operation. Only time will tell. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent. |
