On Tuesday, Florida's health department reported 30 cases of Oropouche fever in the state, all linked to travel from Cuba __ It has sometimes been called sloth fever because scientists first investigating the virus found it in a three-toed sloth, and believed sloths were important in its spread between insects and animals. __ Oropouche virus is spread to people primarily by the bite of infected biting midges (a type of small fly) and mosquitoes. According to the CDC, the virus is transmitted in forested areas between mosquitoes and non-human vertebrate hosts such as birds, rodents and sloths, which is where its nickname is derived __ [and of course] Climate change could be a factor for the growth of Oropouche virus cases, Enny Da Paixao Cruz, associate professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, said in a statement earlier this month I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

Mainly, that it is a low velocity weapon versus the modern rifles with high velocity. After you get this fact down, you finally understand that the very arched trajectory needs to be considered ... for example at the end of it's range the round is plummeting. This means you can miss because not only do you need to get the amount of drop right, it also has a very small horizontal dimension to the zone of impact. You simply need to give up on long shots. And you can misunderstand the parameters of shorter shots. Right now I'm going to site it in for maybe 60 yds due to the terrain where I'll hunt. If you decide to fire at something 100 yds away, you might think that you need to allow for drop. Wrong. The bullet will actually still be in the rising part of the arch and you will hit high without adjustment. See diagram, which shows sighting in for 200 yds, not really what you want to be doing with a muzzleloader. I suppose the diagram is for modern rifles, but the principal is the same while the arched nature is much less of a factor for a modern gun I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

It seems to me that ones with strange and ill-fitting circumstances should be ruled as an unsolved homicide with an opinion that it could be suicide. I suspect the reason this doesn't happen is because there is pressure on the coroner to not clog up policework with those that are actually suicide another thing I've seen claimed is that a suicidal person can do amazing things to themselves, like cut their own throat, or pick a method that you would think would cause too much pain. If true this makes it difficult for the coroner it seems from the link, I saw a program on this, turns out the nature of the fancy knot used to tie to the shower rod should have told them it was not suicide >>> Adrienne Shelly (June 24, 1966 – November 1, 2006) Shelly began her career as an actress, but eventually moved behind the camera as a writer and director, culminating in the film “Waitress,” which was accepted into the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. However, three months before the film’s debut, Shelly was found hanging by a sheet from a shower rod in the bathtub of the apartment that she used as an office. Police originally ruled it a suicide; her husband refused to accept this, saying that Shelly was happy and would not leave their two-year-old daughter motherless. Upon further investigation, it was found that a construction worker from her building had robbed and murdered her, staging the scene to look like a suicide; he was convicted of first-degree manslaughter. Shelly’s husband established the Adrienne Shelly Foundation, which supports upcoming filmmakers. https://www.goldderby.com/gallery/tragic-deaths-actresses/actresses-we-lost-adrienne-shelly/ I'm Still Standing, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah [it's an old guy chant for me] |

| rxwine Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 217 Posts: 22930 | The use of DNA is still somewhat worrisome if that's the only connection. It's relatively easy to collect some random person's DNA from discarded items in trash or on the ground. A cup or a cigarette butt. Leave it behind at the scene of a murder and it will probably be analyzed. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |
