What did they spend a billion dollars on. Trump had three or four or five times more rallies than they did. And those are expensive. You bet there was scimming and scamming and embezzlement probably right from the start. It seems like lefties are always getting caught with thier hand in somebody else's till. I would name names but it would take too long.

What did they spend it on?

Oprah got $1MM to interview Kamala.
They build a replica of the "Shes Your Daddy" set for $100K, FNC said it looks like $6k plus labor.
They paid all those big acts for performing at her rallies.

That is just a start. It looks like the biggest skim since Ben Siegel built the Flamingo in 1946 and he bought the same stuff 2 and 3 times. You have to wonder how many ad agencies got how much markup on commercials. How much they overpaid for food and beverages. All of it. How many hands out? How many people got taken care of?

If you trace that money deep enough, it's coming out of the US Treasury.

That's how they justify spending ridiculous amounts for practically nothing.

I realize you were not asking me, but I would advocate for no minimum wage. Let the market determine a fair wage for all.

Free markets have shown they will race to the bottom on wages.

I've asked this question before and you have refused to answer, so I'll ask again: What should be the wage that the working poor make? How much LESS should we pay minimum wage workers?

Whatever the market will bear. If a company offers too little then it will be unable to attract workers. Then, those market forces will cause the company to raise the wages it must pay. It’s called capitalism and a free market.

I do NOT believe every job NEEDS to pay enough to feed a family of four. That there are ‘entry level, work experience’ type jobs. Heck, I had those 45 years ago.

I guess I was fooled. I actually thought Oprah did that interview to help Harris, not to add .03% to her own net worth. I’m sure there must be similar examples on the other side. They all suck. I’m picturing the 50,000 Democrat donors that shelled out $20 each so Oprah could pad her wallet.

I doubt you were alone. I heard in passing that Oprah never endorsed anyone before, instead leaving her politics in the dressing room. I can see a little spending on small things. Limo from the airport. Nice dinner. But seven figures?

As to your later point, this is why Mr. and Mrs. America should not give to politicians. What did not go to Oprah goes to a danish platter for a bunch of high-priced consultants. You want to help someone in a local race that is one thing. But never, ever give to campaigns big enough to be listed on NASDAQ.

Not at all. What on earth gives you that idea? The market pays what the market pays. Try to hire someone at the federal minimum. See if you get any bites.

Employers who want better employees will and do pay more. Of course they try to pay as little as possible, same as you try to pay as little as possible when you buy. But they cannot "race to the bottom." Smart employers would rather pay $1 an hour more and have many applicants than $1 less but nobody applying.

If that is the case, then that is the fair wage.

I think my first job in 1984 paid me $7 an hour and that was a computer programming job. That was actually a good wage for a high school student.

Those of you who think that "market forces" should dictate wages, and employers will fail or be disadvantaged if they don't offer a high enough wage to attract workers, then why the opposition to the minimum wage? Your argument is that employers will offer wages HIGHER than the min wage or will fail. The only reason there is opposition to a minimum wage is from those employers who want to pay their workers less than a minimum wage. Prove me wrong. State publicly that you support workers making as high a wage as possible.
