The recent election results were probably affected by the ongoing political mess, and the "winner" was the dems, the "loser" was the oaf.

Seems pretty clear, eh?

well, Trump cutting jobs everywhere with glee, giving a foreign country 20 billion of our tax dollars to save his friend, bragging about his 300 million dollar luxury ballroom he's building bigger than the Whitehouse, fighting court orders to fund SNAP benefits, making his family almost a billion dollars with his crypto investment, keeping Mike Johnson's balls in his desk drawer, making sure he doesn't release the Epstein files.

In other words, can't think of a reason why Republicans might be blamed for anything. Trump is on their side.
Trump is not a genius; you're just dumb.

Still no evidence Democrats are getting the primary blame. You guys trying to will it into existence saying this over and over. amusing.

Haven't checked for evidence today. Maybe it changed. ho hum.

A slim majority is blaming the Republicans for the shut down. 53% to 47%

I couldn’t care less who you or anyone else allocates blame. The Republicans passed multiple bills with no strings attached to keep the government open. The Democrat Senators, lead by Schumer, voted to keep the government closed. If you can’t see it’s a Schumer shutdown, I can’t help you. The Democrats, kind of like terrorists, actually, are using the American people as hostages to show they have some semblance of ‘power’. Might it work because a majority of the American public aren’t the brightest stars in the galaxy? Sure.

Seriously…. What ‘evidence’ do you need? The government is shut down. The Republicans continually pass bills to do NOTHING ELSE but open the government. The Democrats won’t open the government unless they as the minority party can extort some of their agenda to pass. It’s NOT COMPLICATED.

Getting hit with a hard ball hurts.

Who will blink first?

Not really as it was all local elections.

Local and State, not merely local.

The interesting thing is how poorly the republicans fared compared to the last cycle; that indicates voter disgust / unhappiness.

But sure, mid-terms are more important and determinative: lots of time til then.

But it would be foolish for pols to say "It don't mean nuthin' ..."

Because right now I care about perception of the voting public, and you should too. Does no good to win on facts, if the public believes something else. Which is why I’m pointing out braying about “Schumer shutdown” doesn’t seem to be having the effect you imagine.

If it did, I would point that out.

It means ‘something’. It was a clear win for the Democrats. But more significant in its symbolic nature than actual power.

Segueing…. I read a little about SNAP. OVER 40 MILLION Americans qualify. Around one in eight Americans, to put it frankly, can’t afford to feed themselves. One in Eight. One in eight can’t (or won’t) find work that pays enough to feed themselves and their family. One in eight depends DIRECTLY on the federal government to feed them.
That’s 1 in 8 that vote Democrat before any other factors are in play. It’s amazing any Republicans get elected.

If the Dems believe that they can continue to do shutdowns, and the Republicans will get the blame, we are really in for it. Ho hum? Hope you like shutdowns

I wrote my rep complaining about none of them doing anything about not ever having shutdowns and suggested what I said here. Next shutdown, fine yourselves $500 each every day the government is shutdown.
