If they were truly committed to removing those rejected for asylum and those who are just plain here without permission, the President would be telling us how he sees the process. There should be tons of the "newcomers" meeting immigration judges in the coming Presidential term. The costs and logistics of removal need to be on the table for all to see.

There was a statistic earlier talked about that indicated the vast majority of applicants would not actually be approved for asylum based on the requirements.

The lack of a plan, his stated unwillingness to close the border by legal executive orders, and the totality of his actions in office seem to show that he is not really concerned about stopping the entry of immigrants. If you are not stopping them, you want them here.

You can blame Republicans all you want for not passing a bill, but you can't defend doing nothing. You even worked for a President who wanted to keep immigration under control. You know how it gets done.

I actually want to know the reasoning behind Biden's lack of action protect the border. There are conspiracy theories out there, but I kind of think he is just an idiot is the best explanation.

Not securing the border is abdication of his duties as President. We have millions of people coming into the country that we know nothing about. He have ineffective enforcement of laws meaning that "extra" criminals (we already have enough of our own, thank you) get to stay and commit more crimes. We have people coming in without any idea who they are who hail from the country who most wants to destroy us.

I am not saying he can do "everything"; I've said my piece on that.

He actually CAN do something.

They want to increase consumer spending, which is 69% of GDP. Higher consumer spending means higher GDP growth. Except in this case, the growth is fueled by personal debt spending.

It also increases corporate profits due to higher consumption and higher prices leading to higher profit margins.

It creates more inflation by increasing the costs of goods and services as well as shelter costs for everyone due to higher demand, but Congress is more interested in satisfying the corporate interests that donate to their campaigns.

The government also believes more taxpayers will increase the tax base, leading to higher tax revenues to offset deficit spending, which increases the Federal budget deficit by $1 trillion every 100 days.

It will never be enough. Biden is proposing a $7 trillion budget this year. That's more than the budget during the height of the pandemic when they were giving money away..

Forget about closing the borders. It is not going to happen.

On a side note, I read somewhere yesterday that 40% of American male workers now make over $100k a year. That number surprised me but I also recognize that making $100k is not a lot of money anymore.
