However, the overt sexuality was a bit of a shock. Did they edit the content for the plane?

I was wondering the same thing...

I can't see them keeping the various masturbation scenes in the plane version...

I really enjoyed “Pacific Rim”, so I wasn’t surprised by the comic bookish characters. However, the overt sexuality was a bit of a shock. Did they edit the content for the plane? I thought it was clever how the title applied in different ways to each character in the film.

I liked Pacific Rim
I thought it was real over the top though. Almost too much.

Don't you mean this? Best villain ever, Tim Curry in Legend.

I saw that when I was kinda youngish, and was really impressed with what a great body Tim Curry had, compared to Rocky Horror Picture Show from 10 years prior. Yeah, foam suit, I get it now. Same as the horns, which even if they were foam, must've weighed a bit for him to hold up for so long.

I'm serving the seven hour layover right now.

Haven't seen PL so can't comment.

Ivana Baquero was age 11 when she was cast. PL is in Spanish, and surprisingly both films were produced for less than $20 million, but the puppetry in Pan's Labrynth is much more elaborate.

Right now you have to pay $3 or $4 to rent the movie as it is not streaming on Netflix.

Very beautiful but then most female movie stars are. What age is she in the photo? Isn't this "PL" a very recent movie?

Superb performances by all, including William Defoe.

Make that Willem Dafoe. I usually don't correct such things, that's pretty rude, but in this case it bugs me since I was making the same mistake for years! Dafoe instead of Defoe .... I don't have down yet myself.

Pan's Labyrinth was released in 2006 at Cannes in France initially. It was released at Christmas 2006 in the USA and played for 24 weeks, but only 2 weeks in more than 1000 theaters. Because it was in Spanish many people saw it after it's theatrical run.

Maribel Verdú was in her mid 30's at the time of the release of the movie, but she played a serious role

Ivana Baquero was age 11 when the move was shot, but she is now age 23.

Guillermo del Toro directed the following movies over the last 20 years
12/1/17 The Shape of Water FoxS $61,888,637

7/12/13 Pacific Rim WB $101,802,906
7/11/08 Hellboy II: The Golden Army Uni. $75,986,503

I do know that when Sally signed F**K YOU to her boss they edited out one of the letters, I think the C. You could see them blur out her hand and they didn't show the C as a caption, like they did the other letters. As for the sex scenes, I don't know what was actually shown in the original version. I can say you couldn't see anything good of Sally nor any actual sex act. In every scene either her back was turned or she was behind the ... "asset." So all the sex was implied, although still kind of shocking when you let your mind imagine it.

I wonder what may have been edited out of the Florida Project. They did show the topless woman at the pool and when Jancey stuck a maxi pad (if that is what it was -- I'm a guy, what do I know?) on the window.

Mexican, European, and even Australian film directors are used to much more explicit sex scenes. They have for many decades now. "Atame Atame" was basically a Spanish Rom-Com about thirty years ago, but it got an X-rating in the USA.

I remember seeing it in Washington DC and some of the patrons thought they were clearly going to a porn.

Saw the Burt Reynolds movie Hustle
in 1975, thought it was wonderful.
Tried to watch it last night and lasted
20 min, it sucked that bad. Like an
awful made for TV movie that used
the F word a lot. But I thought it was
terrific in 1975..
