Regarding the shooting in Baton Rouge

We have 2 video angles

Here is the back story on the videos

The 1st video to appear is from a group called "Stop the killing"
They listen to police scanners to pick up on any violent incidents to video tape
Their purpose is to dissuade young black youths from crime showing them videos of the horrible aftermath after a violent crime
After police did not immediately release any footage of the shooting, "Stop the killing" team uploaded the video to Facebook and Instagram at about 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The second video is from the store owner that knew the victim
The store owner knew the victim well and liked him
The victim had permission from the store owner to sell outside his store
The victim actually helped the store owner on many occasions
The store owner video taped because it was a WTF is going on with the police hassling his friend

The NRA, who was sooooo concerned about the due process of terrorists last month, has "no comment" on the Minnesota shooting.

I'm sure they'd have a comment if it were a licensed-to-carry white man who was killed.

cross posted from uber thread: Washington Post just compared 'loose cigarettes' and 'selling CDs' to the Uber and AirBnB technical lawbreakers, noting the racial and economic overtones of the various 'side hustles'.

A lot of cops just go to the gun too quickly
Some cops really get pissed off when video taped and go straight for their gun to intimidate
A guy is in his own driveway hooking up his boat to tow with his car
Sees a cop driving around
Starts video taping
Cop stops, gets out and goes straight for his gun
Later cop doubles down saying he was right to pull a gun simply because the videotape puts everybody in danger???????
Cop needs to be fired.

I am of two minds on taping the cops. On one hand, they should have nothing to hide. OTOH, many if not most people tape them to cause trouble. In Phoenix I saw fliers from some group providing cameras to "catch the racist pigs." I don't remember the exact wording, but I promise you I did not embellish there. Tapes can be selectively shown, as we saw with Rodney King, just the bad part looped over and over. NBC edited audio tape in the Zimmerman case.

All it takes is the accusation against a white cop and his career is often over and life ruined. Media will always take the side of those accusing the cop. While there are bad cops to be sure, good cops don't want to take the chance. There is money in even accusing.

Very interesting case I just came across
A person believes he has a very valuable painting that he bought for a hundred bucks.
He wants to sell it for millions
The artist is alive
The owner of the painting sends a photo to artist to verify
The artists answer "Nice painting, not by me"
That should be the end of it but its not
The artist is now being sued by the owner of the "fake"
Lots of money at stake, this artists paintings go for millions
The art community is in shock that a judge has set a trial
The artist has to prove he did not paint the fake lol

Now you know why many artists START with a metal based paint with their name and the date.... one xray and its proven.

of course one famous artist used to write Real and Fake on photos sent to him with careless abandon often both authenticating and rejecting the same painting in the same day.

The timeline makes me wonder. Guy gets pulled over and says he is licensed CC and gets shot in seconds? That is Doc Holiday speed.

Well first of all they weren't pulled over for a broken tail light. The policeman suspected that he was involved in an armed robbery. So far there is no evidence that the boyfriend had a concealed carry permit as claimed by the woman.

The officer did not seem to be equipped with a body camera, so he has only an audio record to back up his side of the story.

Officer Jeronimo Yanez:
“I’m going to stop a car. I’m going to check IDs. I have reason to pull it over.”
“The two occupants just look like people that were involved in a robbery. The driver looks more like one of our suspects, just ‘cause of the wide set nose.”

The phone makes it look like the woman was driving. She was in fact the passenger.

I wondered about that, anybody can say
they have a permit. If he did have one
it seems like it would have come out by
now.

I saw this but did not post. Seems like I was right to question it. I did wonder when I saw it why it looked like she was driving. At the least it was not some random broken taillight.

When the dust settles please let me know if it was:
Driving While Black
Driving While White
Driving While lawfully armed but with no weapon in sight
Driving while unlawfully armed but with no weapon in sight
Driving while possessing a "wide nose" based on a report of a recent armed robbery with witness of unknown skills and unknown veracity
Driving while possessing a "wide nose" as perceived by inexperienced cop while each of two vehicles was in motion
Also: How many wide noses are there in that town? Heck, that trigger happy cop looks pretty wide-nosed to me. So does his supervisor and two of the reporters.
