They rarely do. Any officer caught being nice gets thirty days of special duty, ie, no donuts.

I read an interview of one officer that was very interesting
In his experience
15% of the police are good officers people trying to protect and serve and would never ever break the law
15% of police have no problem breaking the law.
The other 70%, they act depending on who they are with
With a bad cop they will look the other way and also break the law
With a good cop, they will do anything within the law to help the good cop protect and serve

I suppose some of the police don't like snitches any better than criminals. Maybe it's somewhat psychological --turning on your fellow cop is worse than looking the other way when he does something wrong.

Then there's the whole thing of support. They won't look out for someone who is causing trouble. So, if they consider you a do-gooder troublemaker, they don't give you the proper support in the field. They all have to have each other's backs sometimes to keep safe. The police can't attack the do-gooder, but they can fail to watch his back when he needs it.

Just my own speculation on group dynamics.

Like they left Frank Serpico bleeding on the floor after he took a bullet to the face.

"Serve" is cop-talk for "Dominate".

Q: Why should you never trust a cop?
A: Because you never know when he will turn honest.

Nobody I know likes snitches for anything. If they snitch on someone else, fine. But if it is in a group you are a part of not so much. I know I have little use for them. When I was in management I did not trust them, used them for info but never took them into confidence.

No, they all failed to hit the door giving the occupant time to obtain a weapon and aim it out the partially opened door that Serpico had expected all four cops to hit at once and push inwards. It wasn't just that they failed to call an ambulance after the shooting, they set him up for the shooting by letting him hit the door by himself.

At the time the average NY cop was making about 100 percent of his monthly salary in monthly bribe money.

The socalled French Connection seizure of pure heroin was itself stolen from the Property Clerk's office and sold to the original importers by the city's elite Princes of the City, the narcotics unit.

We all heard the horrible story at Disney regarding the gator attack on the little boy
I was blaming tourists for feeding the gators
A huge no no - gators lose their fear of humans
Now we are finding out the fire station nearby was feeding the gators
WTF
These are locals, they should know better
On top of that, fire fighters
wow
What a bunch of clown fire fighters making the area unsafe

I can't bring myself to read the article, but from the photo it sounds like Victoria Beckham is being chastised for kissing her daughter on the lips. People need to get a life!

Disney hire firefighters...doesn't mean they are Floridians or long term Floridian residents.
