Mary is the Mother of God, she is the first disciple, she is the most perfect human being ever to live, but she is just that a human being who as the angel tells her in the Bible, "Hail Mary, Full of Grace..."

Except it really reads "And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women."

Never says she was full of grace, that's
another Catholic invention.

"Mary was never full of grace; but rather, she was the blessed recipient of God's grace, as is every born again believer. The man made Catholic doctrine of the immaculate conception of Mary is a lie, which teaches that Mary was born without a sin-nature, and lived a perfect life without ever sinning. These heresies contradict the most fundamental teachings of God's Word. Luke 1:28 in NO way gives credence, or implies, that Mary was born without a sin-nature or that she lived a sinless life. For Roman Catholics to attempt to justify such a far-fetched and unbiblical doctrine on mere speculation is the height of unscholarly rubbish."

I've always wondered that myself. The
Church is like a carnival that comes to
town and puts up all the outrageous
posters that have no basis in reality.
Two headed boys, half snake half
woman, gods that have mothers.
Anything to lure the suckers in.

The Greek is kecharitomene and it means "Graced one", "favored one" or "full of grace". The problem with your translation above is the clear uniqueness that is present in the original Greek. It is clear that Mary is unique among all women, not only in her role as the mother of our savior but in the grace she received from God to prepare her for her extraordinary role. Any attempt to avoid this clear interpretation is a lie and not Biblical.

When this non-contingent being chooses to enter into our world and become incarnate to share our life with us he requires a mother.

"chaire kecharitomene" means: “Hail, who has been perfectly and completely graced by God.”

I asked my Baptist brother in law minister
why his church hasn't taken this one phrase
from the NT and exalted Mary to the
same lofty position that the Catholic's
have. His email answer: 'LOL!'

Why?

He "created" Adam and Eve without a mother. Why couldn't he create himself?

He supposedly created the entire universe. It seems ludicrous to me to suggest that he needed a mother in order to enter our world.

Yet another thing that makes no sense.

It's the tradition of that myth, that's
why it's in the NT. In the other myths
leading up to the time of Jesus, the
savior was always born of a virgin.
If the men who wrote the NT wanted
their myth to be believed, it had to
jibe with the myths preceding it.

We can only have the slightest understanding
of how myth and superstition ruled every
facet of life in those days. Science and
logic were nowhere to be found.

Why would an omnipotent being require anything?
