In the context of the military? I would think proudly displaying any flag other than the American flag would be prohibited. |

Good lord you love building straw men. Any flag of another country or republic. If you are putting the confederate flag in the same category as the POW-MIA flag, that is sick. |

But the confederate flag is not the flag of any other country. Building straw men? No. Showing how silly it is to get upset about a flag that represents the south, yes. Worry about something important. The President is a fink. |

If you read what I said, any flag of another country or republic. The confederate states of America was a republic. Again and again, you love shoving words down other people’s throats. I never said the confederate flag upset me or should be banned, I just shared the news that the marines banned it. I hope anyone who wants to proudly display the confederate flag does so. Makes it really easy for their neighbors to see that they are a racist POS. Sunshine is the best disinfectant. |

Someone wants to put it up let them put it up. Nazi flag was not used by rock and country bands or just a general symbol of the south so a very hard sell. The President is a fink. |

When you enter, even if you are not in the military, you consent to a lot of things (full searches at anytime, restrictions on speech, restrictions on movement, being detained at pretty much anytime). It has been a long rule that you cannot wear or display any kind of gang or supremacist group symbols on base (this even includes wearing a plain white t-shirt, as a primary shirt IE not an undershirt). You do not have free speeches on military bases. If you want to fly a confederate flag or have a confederate flag license plate, don't live on base housing and don't bring your truck on base.... I hope more branches follow suite. The Army has a lot of bases named after separatists and constantly dodges this issue when pushed, so I don't the Army changing this sadly..... But, yes the Confederate Battle Flag or any related symbol is the a symbol of terror and treason, that is a fact. |
