Why are xtions always so threatened
by atheists, we certainly aren't
threatened by you.
Just pointing out some humorous hypocrisy. You are by far the most religious person on this site. Your proselytising is tiresome at best. It's funny that it goes right over your head.

More religious than FrG? LOL! I don't think
you even know what 'religious' means.

I know enough to know you are a zealot about something that's nothing. It's hilarious and the best part is you don't even get it.

The best part is YOU think you have
something and you actually have
a head full of empty promises and
fairy tales.

The depth of your thinking on this
boggles the mind. Typical Xtion,
all the thinking has been done for you,
so you have no practice at it.

We seldom talk about the title of this thread
anymore. Original sin, it's an off the wall concept.
It can't be proven, isn't obvious, isn't detectable
in any way either by deduction or logic or
science. You can't learn about it on your own,
it has to be told to you by someone else because
it doesn't really exist. It was made up entirely to sell a religion.
Why this isn't obvious to most religious people
is the real Great Mystery. You choose to wear
a millstone around your necks that is pure fantasy.
Amazing.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Original Sin is the most obvious of all religious ideas. Anyone who has ever wondered why they did the thing they knew they shouldn't do or didn't do the thing they knew they should have realizes there is something not quite right. There are tendencies and temptations in us that our will has to fight against even when we know we are trying to do good or avoid bad. Every kid instinctively knows this from the age of reason. Adults cannot reasonably doubt it without sounding foolish. Original Sin is a theological reflection on the fact that we were made perfect and destined to be perfect with God forever, so why do we do bad things and struggle sometimes to do what is right? Why are we so tempted to power, lust, & greed, and at the same time desire strongly to be virtuous, honest, and generous? I'm sure there are psychological explanations to this universal human experience and Original Sin is the theological one.

What amazes me is that someone could think that Original sin is mysterious or not obvious? To deny it is to live in a fantasy world where you never read the newspaper.
