I'm talking about the Church. It's all about rules and regulations and toeing the line. Woe be to you if you stray and get a divorce, or have a Gay relationship. Or a myriad of other things. My friend got a divorce 10 years ago and lost his front row pew, got kicked off the Church's board, and was basically snubbed so badly by the congregation that he eventually left town. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

To an outsider, to an atheist, they're all just variations of the same theme. You think they're different, but in their core beliefs they're all in lockstep with one another. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

To an atheist, all churches based on the teachings of Jesus are the same church. You may have nuances that you quibble over, to an atheist those are irrelevant. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Jesus supposedly died for sins (whatever that means) and was supposedly the son of god. He rose from the dead and a religion was built around it. What else is there, the nuances are irrelevant. All the Buddhist sects follow the teachings of Buddha, the nuances are not relevant. You love the nuances your church invented because it makes you feel special and above the other church's that have different nuances. To an outsider, all of it is irrelevant. It's like believing a purple ice scraper works better than a yellow one. The color is irrelevant to what the item was conceived to do. If you take a risk, you may lose.
