Wow, Tina Fey and Amy Pohler just lampooned
the crap out of Bill Cosby in their opening bit.
You could hear the oxygen getting sucked out
of the auditorium as people gasped. Good for
them, women have got to find these stories
about what Cosby did appalling.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Men find them appalling also. The question on my mind however is simply 'are they true'?

Ten minute opening but only about thirty seconds on Bill Cosby.

If one is true, that's enough. I would never
do something like that, would you?

Like the padre in another thread, he seems
ok with the Church burning 10,000 women
at the stake for witchcraft instead of the
couple of hundred thousand some are
claiming. Isn't just one too many? Any
number after one is irrelevant.

Not really. Scale and scope do matter.

If Cosby didn't do it is pretty unfortunate.

If he did do it, he's extremely lucky. He got through most of his career, made tons of money, and appears the statue of limitations has run out for most (I think , if not all of them).

Much more lucky than anyone who got caught for stuff like this earlier in life.

"statute" heh
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

Nope. If you do one, you'll do a hundred.
Which Cosby apparently did.

Scale and scope matter, that's pretty funny.
Kill one person and you're bad. Kill two and
you're really bad? It doesn't work that way.

Networks and Netflix abandoned Cosby in mid-negotions, but Woody Allen just signed multi million dollar deals.

What gives?

Woody is a complicated because I don't know what to believe.
He has a daughter that says she was molested.
He has a son that was at that particular family gathering and says Mia poisoned the family and nothing happened.
For a while that son drank the poison before coming to his senses.
He wants a relationship with both parents. Pretty telling that Mia wont have anything to do with a son. A son.
Its a fractured family. Sadly Mia and her daughter refuse to communicate with the son in Dad's corner.
Who knows.

Don't forget that he cheated on his wife with his stepdaughter. (But it must have been true love, because he married his stapdaughter!) In an old old issue of People magazine, Allen is quoted as saying: "I'm open-minded about sex. I'm not above reproach; if anything, I'm below reproach. I mean, if I was caught in a love nest with 15 12-year-old girls tomorrow, people would think, yeah, I always knew that about him."

Maybe the magazine misquoted him. But if they got the quote right, who the hell is fantasizing about orgies with 12 year olds???

I'm a terrible hypocrite because I enjoy many (though not all) of his films. Match Point is fantastic, and so is Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
